About Stourport Hockey Club

Founded in 1892 as a men’s hockey club, Stourport Hockey Club had to wait until 1977 to form its Ladies section. The club now goes from strength to strength with 5 men’s and ladies teams, a junior section with in excess of 150 members, a men’s vets team that enters O40’s and 50’s competitions, a mixed team and ladies vets teams for the O35’s and O45’s.

Blue and Gold are the club colours, the club crest is Stourport towns crest featuring the famous Severn Trow (A boat that could easily drop sail to get under the low bridges of the Severn) Matches are played at the Kingsway; the club is part of Stourport Sports Club complex and with three astro pitches – two of which are less than 4 years old, the quality of the pitch matches the quality of coaching and hockey that we strive to play, no matter the age or ability.

The clubhouse serves hot and cold food, is fully licensed, and with ample parking and changing facilities with showers, even on a wet windy Stour day you can expect a warm place to relax. The club welcomes players of all ages and abilities so please get in touch and let us welcome you.

Welcome to our club. Hockey is a team game and can be played by both ladies and men of all ages and abilities, this awesome game has been a part of my life since I started playing at Stourport in 1978. It is here I met my husband and many lifelong friends. To still be playing and enjoying it is one thing, to be a part of a club that offers so much and is in touch with everyone at every level is fantastic. If you are looking to join a club where you can play at whatever level you desire and find a whole new bunch of friends at the same time come and see us. Our junior coaching is open to 7 years and above and we currently have several over 65’s so there are no limits ages wise and if you want back to basics we can offer this too. Parents, partners, supporters are all made very welcome and some of the best umpires and coaches have come from the side-line. We have a very successful club with members and past members playing for County, Midlands, England and Great Britain at every level. One thing I can guarantee is you will be made to feel very welcome and see some great hockey. Teri Baron
